When to Choose Butterfly Valves?

A butterfly valve, also known as a flap valve, is a type of regulating valve with a simple structure that can be used for switching and control of low-pressure pipeline media. The butterfly valve refers to a valve that has a circular disc as a closure element (valve disc or butterfly plate) which rotates around the valve shaft to achieve opening and closing. Applications of butterfly valves

  • Usually, in throttling, regulating control, and mud media, where a short structural length, fast opening and closing speed (1/4 turn), and low-pressure shut-off (small pressure difference) are required, it is recommended to use butterfly valves.

  • In dual-position regulation, choked flow channels, low noise, air pockets, and vaporization phenomena, with a small amount of gas leakage to the atmosphere and an abrasive medium, butterfly valves can be used.

  • Special design metal sealing belt regulating devices are required for using butterfly valves in special working conditions, or for strict sealing, or severe wear, low temperature (cryogenic) and other working conditions.

  • The centerline butterfly valve is suitable for fresh water, sewage, seawater, brine, steam, natural gas, food, medicine, oil, acid and alkali, and other pipelines that require complete sealing, zero gas leakage test, high service life, and working temperatures between -10℃ to ℃.

  • The single eccentric butterfly valve is suitable for bi-directional opening and closing and regulation of ventilation and dust removal pipelines and is widely used in coal gas pipelines and water channels in metallurgy, light industry, power, and petrochemical systems.

  • The metal-to-metal linear sealing double-eccentric butterfly valve is suitable for gas, oil, acid and alkali pipelines such as city heating, gas supply, and water supply and china double eccentric butterfly valve is used as a regulating and throttling device.

  • The metal-to-metal surface sealing triple-eccentric butterfly valve is not only used as a program control valve for large-scale variable pressure adsorption gas separation devices but can also be widely used in petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, metallurgical, and power fields.
